Fashion & Accessory Design Course for Young Stitches
Join us for a fun, hands-on journey into the world of fashion and accessory design, where imagination, creativity, and personal style come to life.
Using a strengths-based approach, each participant works on their own individual sewing project - supported, encouraged, and celebrated every step of the way.
Young designers may choose from a range of creative makes, including:
stuffed toys
clothes for their toys
skirts or shorts for themselves
heat packs
hair accessories
…or any discuss any project their imagination sparks with Simone to see what is possible.
We’ll begin by sketching ideas, planning designs, and choosing fabrics before bringing each creation to life by hand-sewing technique and on the sewing machine.
Whether you're a budding designer or simply love making things, this course is the perfect place to explore your style, build confidence, and learn new sewing skills.
$215 incl. GST and all materials
Workshops will run 4:00pm - 5:30pm Monday 13th, 20th, 27th October, 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 1st December. (8-weeks)
Classes will be held in the Garage Studio at Bluebird House 150 Swanston Street, Geelong
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Bookings are non-refundable but, should you be unable to attend, your place can be transferred to a friend. Please contact us if you should need to transfer your booking.
NDIS Participants: If this student will be using funds from an NDIS plan. Please contact sarahmoore@bluebirdfoundationinc.org.au for enrolment and an invoice exclusive of GST.
This workshop requires a minimum number of participants to run. In the unlikely event that we don't get this number of participants, we'll cancel the class and fully refund you and inform you via email.

Simone Amethyst
Simone Amethyst has over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, specialising in bridalwear and alterations. She holds a Diploma of Fashion Design and brings a wealth of practical knowledge to her sewing workshops.
With a gentle, encouraging approach, Simone supports young makers to build skills and confidence as they work on their own creative projects. She also brings experience working with children and in disability support, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
