Workshop FAQs

  • We believe everyone should have access to the creative arts and believe in the transformational power of the arts for all in our community. The workshops form an integral part of our social enterprise model where proceeds from the workshops support our community programs.

  • We host a range of creative workshops depending on the time of year, artist availability and creative trends. We are open to suggestions so feel free to get in touch with your workshop suggestion by sending an email to our Venue Operations Co-ordinator, Sarah Moore.

  • Our programs are designed and run by working artists local to the Geelong area. As an arts organisation we believe in supporting artists and providing a platform for them to guide, teach and explore their passions, so we can all benefit from the enjoyment and sense of community arts workshops provide.

  • We have two creative spaces - the Garage Workshop where projects can be big and messy and our Meeting Room which hosts a solid hardwood table perfect to pop your cuppa on and chat while you enjoy the company of like-minded people and learn a new creative skill.

  • Everyone! Bluebird House is a very welcoming space, come as you are and be yourself. Our workshops are designed to create an atmosphere that embodies our core values which are Joy, Inclusion and Integrity. We take pride in offering a space that feels safe, where everybody belongs and has a seat at the table. Please get in touch if you want to discuss which workshop might be the best fit for you.

  • We host a range of programs from early childhood, all abilities music programs, junior and senior choir, theatre programs and special storytelling projects. You can learn about our current Community Programs here.

  • Workshops at Bluebird House are designed to engage a group of people (generally between 8-14 participants), in a creative, supportive arts-based process led by an artist facilitator. Workshops are not designed as therapy, respite care or childcare services - although individuals may experience therapeutic benefits. Our facilitators are not trained medical practitioners or childcare professionals; they are experienced in arts-based group facilitation.

  • You are welcome to bring along a support person/worker to assist you on the day free of charge. If the support person will be participating with their own set of materials then they will need to enrol and pay for their place in the workshop.

  • We are sorry you are feeling unwell. Please stay home and look after yourself and seek medical care if needed. All bookings are non-refundable. However, you are welcome to send along a friend in your place, email sarahmoore@bluebirdfoundation.org.au to let us know you can’t make it and that your friend will attend in your place.
