"Graphic Studio" with Joshua Maxwell de Hoog | 13-18yrs | 4:30pm-6pm Tuesdays | 8 week course commencing 30 April | TERM 2 2024

Empowering young creatives through a range of graphic experimentations, the group will draw on inspiration from street-art, gallery art and pop culture.

Each week learn new ways of turning your ideas into physical realities, for your journal, the gallery or the street. 

After this course, you will be equipped with artistic thinking skills to help finalise your creative ideas, along with new methods of making, drawing and collecting. 

Graphic Studio allows for the participants to explore their own artistic ability in a fun, collaborative and welcoming environment.

The workshop will run for 8 weeks during Term 2 from 4:30pm - 6:00pm Tuesday 30th April - 18th June at Bluebird House (Cnr Carr & Swanston Streets, South Geelong).

Workshop outcomes will be determined by the group but may include:

Bookings are non-refundable but, should you be unable to attend, your place can be transferred to a friend. Please contact us if you should need to transfer your booking.

We believe that the arts play an important role in community wellbeing and with sensible precautions in place, we can provide programs at Bluebird House. Our guidelines have been informed by the Victorian Department of Health. All participants will be required to adhere to Bluebird Foundation’s COVIDSafe Plan.

NDIS Participants: If this student will be using funds from an NDIS plan. Please contact sarahmoore@bluebirdfoundationinc.org.au for enrolment and an invoice exclusive of GST.

Joshua Maxwell de Hoog

Joshua Maxwell de Hoog is a Geelong-based multidisciplinary maker. They are passionate about illustration, self publication and the preservation of interesting graphic or physical oddities. Playing in Geelong's most experimental Jazz band, Final Final, Joshua combines their love for the visual medium into musical output, and their passion for music is clearly evident in their visual art. De Hoog is a great advocate for the importance of mutual inspiration and works tirelessly to create spaces welcoming for all to express their creativity and explore their passion. They are dedicated to fostering young minds and creative thinkers. Having been in the arts business and gallery world for over fifteen years, Joshua has a strong ability to turn drawn or collected images into professional output, and they love sharing their ideas and knowledge both in teaching and in collaboration.
