Miniature Home Builders

Wednesdays | 4:00pm – 5:00pm | Ages 7 - 12yrs
Create a miniature world out of everyday objects! Construct a home or world out of cardboard and create all of the furniture and accessories that it needs to become a home, including the family or creatures that will live in it.
This workshop run by artist Victoria Mathews encourages the artist to think outside the box and explore their imagination. They will be provided with all the materials that they need to design and create their miniature world. Each artist will bring their own unique individual designs to life.
Over the 8 weeks the artists will learn new skills and build on skills they already have such as drawing, painting, designing, constructing, assembling, and problem solving to plan out and build their miniature home. By the end of the workshop the artist will have their own fabulous miniature home!

Learn drawing, painting, model making and construction techniques
Develop creativity, planning and problem-solving skills
Small class size with individual guidance

Workshops will run 4:00pm - 5:00pm 7, 14, 21, 28 October 4, 11, 18, 25 November 2026
Workshop will be held in the Garage Studio at Bluebird House 150 Swanston Street, Geelong

Bookings are non-refundable but, should you be unable to attend, your place can be transferred to a friend. Please contact us if you should need to transfer your booking.
NDIS Participants: If this student will be using funds from an NDIS plan. Please contact sarahmoore@bluebirdfoundationinc.org.au for enrolment and an invoice exclusive of GST.
This workshop requires a minimum number of participants to run. In the unlikely event that we don't get this number of participants, we'll cancel the class and fully refund you and inform you via email.
Local artist, Victoria Mathews
Victoria Mathews
Victoria lives a creative life with her daughters and loves encouraging and supporting creativity in others. Victoria is trained contemporary jeweller who studied gold and silversmithing at NMIT and RMIT. For the last 5 years Victoria has worked with artists with disabilities, supporting them with their art practice. Victoria works in a range of mediums including metal, fabric and paper.
